Shadow Lake Apartments

Not a bad place to live, really. It's quiet and reasonably priced. They have a gym and swimming pool and, I believe, stocked ponds. The landscaping is nice, too. Paint(literally just peels right off the cabinets) and repairs have the typical poorly done landlord specials and the carpet is so cheap and poorly laid that it started fraying in multiple seams a week after I moved in. They seem to like entering the apartments without notifying you first. I work third shift and sleep during the day. I don't want strangers walking into my apartment while I'm asleep, so I put the chain lock on. I haven't seen the quartly pest control since I moved in 6 months ago bc they just show up randomly while I'm asleep and I can't hear them knock with my bedroom door closed. I’ve lived her for 8 months. For what you’re getting the rent price should be lower. My apartment has patch work all over it. I had a little spot in my apartment that was bubbling. Maintenance came to “supposedly” fix it. It looks exactly the same to me except now it’s a white patch that stands out from the egg shell color wall paint. The materials they use are cheap. They don’t replace anything unless it has completely fallen apart. They replaced my bathroom mirror with a super cheap mirror. It is so thin that when you clean it, it shakes like it could possibly break if you rub on it too hard when you’re cleaning it. The apartment has popcorn ceilings. I completed the forms, application fees, and "application deposit" after being told I would be getting a pet-friendly 6-month lease for Dec 1st. Nov 6, I get a call saying they want me to sign a lease and move in Nov 10. The lease they sent me was for 12 months and had a whole paragraph about a no pet policy despite their website saying they were pet friendly. They said they could change it to 6 months (only NOW informing me that it would be an extra $75/mo for this) and change it to pet friendly but would offer no alternatives that would allow me to move in when I would actually be available to. I am currently living here and they didn't not give me the original apartment or original moving date I was promise but not mad it because it in a better area. However they did a horrible paint job and had they painted over dirt.The apartment has several issues that still need to be fix.I submitted 20 maintenance request.I been contacting management but doesn't seem to care.They called inform me what things got done and next time only submit three request.The maintenance people left my lights on while I was at work and run up my energy bill. P.S they don't do anything when it snow or they would be hold reliable. The pool tile keep falling off the side of the pool. The tennis court gate is broken, and dog poop everywhere. One of the fountains is broken.

I pay rent on the first of every month. Not the second or later. So this is not from someone who doesn't do their part. If you rent here, look over the exact apartment you will be getting and make sure it is all fixed before you pay them. It will not be fixed after. I have plenty of pictures I can share if anyone wants to see. They also do not keep up things outside. They do keep grass cut. However I have been here almost 6 months. They have not trimmed hedges fixed metal poking out in pool, cleaned outside of buildings, cleaned sidewalks. They seem to only work on apartment's before rented. Not after.
