Second State Apartments

Not great manager, Ellie. Didn’t have heat nearly half the winter, problems with hot water consistently for the last two months or more. At this point needed to move for medical reasons for things they cannot accommodate. They have video footage of me being carried out in an ambulance last December. Left the apartment clean and walls patched etc and manager is threatening me for collections. Having my lawyer contact their office. Would recommend finding another apartment complex. The apartments are also extremely small.

Don't, just don't. I can hear my upstairs neighbors dog whine and bark during the day and night. It literally sounds like it is in my apartment and its due to a poor drain system setup underneath the washer/dryers.... When I brought this up I was told "Noise is just part of living in an apartment complex". This is NOT normal noise. I wish I had never resigned my lease. If you want young disrespectful and anti-social neighbors this is the place for you.

This place did feel like home a lot of the time. It’s an ok place, but there are things I realize that would not be ok with me now. It was really what we needed because we were struggling. But here’s the truth. Short version: No storage. Thin walls. Low bidder. Dirty. No help 24/7. No pool. Way too expensive. Absolutely no storage. Don’t think about storing anything. No bathroom storage (except for the cabinet under the sink). No pantry for food. No hallway closet. No outside storage. That has been the biggest issue. Yes, there are storage units behind us. But I’m not paying an extra $50 a month when other apartments have tons of storage for the same price. We were also promised a deal on storage by the first manager of the place who was later fired (and were promised other things that d

One star — Not worth the headache. I would not recommend living here. First, the management is extremely disorganized when it comes to communication and a little sketchy. I gave notice for a June move-out (when our lease ended) and they told me I would only be back-charged for June. Instead, they charged me for July as well, they said that the notice for 30days didn’t count for June it was for July which doesn’t make sense, we paid the July rent and were told if they were able to rent it out we would get the rent back which of course never happened. We paid hour deposit at the start of our lease and now we have to pay for utilities for June backdated which even though we already moved out had to pay(whatever it makes sense since our notice was for the last month of June so it’s fine just

I’ve lived in a lot of places and these are the best apartments I’ve been in by far! We can’t thank everyone here at Second State enough for the positive experience. We had a couple rough landlords in a row before we got here and were tired of renting in general. But Ellie and the staff have all been so kind and quick to address any concerns that we’re glad we did. My baby dog feels very at home and relaxed. We both sleep well here. This is the cleanest apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. Everything is new, the halls are well kept, and the security on the building is great to have. It’s really meant a lot to us to enjoy where we live and we don’t take it for granted ❤️
