Runaway Bay Apartments

Since the recent ownership change, my interactions with Shonda Simmons in the front office have been consistently difficult. On multiple occasions, I have attempted to discuss lease or maintenance-related concerns and have been interrupted or spoken over before being able to fully explain the issue. Professional and respectful communication is essential in a housing environment. Residents should be able to ask questions and have concerns addressed without being cut off or dismissed. Given that similar concerns appear in recent reviews, I hope upper management takes the time to evaluate how resident interactions are being handled and ensures a more professional and solution-focused approach moving forward.

As previous reviews stated, I entered to view two apartments at my scheduled time. Unfortunately the lady at the front desk is so incredibly rude that we didn’t even get to the point of seeing the apartments. WE FLAT OUT LEFT. Maybe the apartment could’ve been nice however we will never give our business to someone representing a company and management so poorly. I’m not sure of her name I think it was Shonda and her she was the only person at 2.04 PM Saturday March 7th. We didn’t even sit down this person should not be in this position as it’s the reason we chose to not continue.

The lady in the front office, Shonda Simmons is the most unprofessional property staff I’ve ever dealt with. Very condescending, out of pocket, and tries to humiliate residents and assert dominance over them when we, the actual residents, pay to live at this apartment complex we do not pay to be demeaned….I would like to speak to her higher ups or her manager but every single interaction I’ve had with her I am unable to get a word in without being insulted by this woman. She needs either a to realize what she is doing is unprofessional and unacceptable and have major attitude adjustment or to be fired. I do not appreciate being spoken to the way that she does and after reading previous reviews it looks like other residents have had issues with this problematic woman.

The community is fine for the rent charged, it's just an aged set of structures. The real issue is the portal they offer you to pay rent is subject to a $45 "processing fee" each month or you are forced to pay with a cashier's check (typically $10 and a trip to the bank), so either way you WILL pay more than you budgeted for, that feels dirty and could have been more transparent.

The lawn is well maintained and if something clogs or breaks they fix it fairly fast. The internet is expensive and rarely works but you have to use theirs. They will add amenities no one asked for and never bother with new things you did ask for, though they will look you in the eye and say “definitely working on that.” Also the middle Of my apartment slopes so much you could ski. They saw it and shrugged. So, a landlord.
