River Park Lofts

When we moved into River Park Lofts in Spring 2024, management told us construction would be finished by that summer. Not only did that never happen, but less than a year later they kicked everyone out due to structural issues. Some residents had literally just signed new leases before being forced to leave. To make things worse, once they started emptying out three of the five buildings, we began having major mouse problems — and so did a bunch of other units. It was disgusting and stressful. Also, they didn’t even send out any communication to the residents that people in the first building were being evicted. I have worked with almost every management company in Boston Metro and this building has arguably the worst management company I have ever worked with. I dealt with Chunnan Li and Maureen DiStasi and they were extremely unprofessional.

I moved into this apartment complex in April 2024, and by September 2024, management began issuing notices to quit and lease non-renewal to all tenants due to severe structural damage across all five buildings. Some tenants were evicted only months after moving in. Construction was constant, with scaffolding covering all buildings. Communication from both ownership and property management has been consistently poor—lacking transparency and leaving us tenants in the dark about critical issues affecting their homes (we heard about these issues from our neighbors, not a word from ownership or property managers). I STRONGLY advise against renting at River Park Lofts or any other property owned by Buckminster Group/Chauncy Place Corporation.

On the rare occasion that you are able to get them on the phone, you can't even hear them over the construction noise. They are in the process (for the last year) of insulating the garage and building which means they had to rip up the entire courtyard, seal the bottom layer, and are on other people's balconys facing Pleasant St. peeling wall panels off of sections of the building. Seems they ran into delays and issues while doing this and it is VERY loud. Only move here if you want to have construction going on at every section of the building for a long long time and forget about working from home, you will not be able to get any work done from the noise. I wish there was a zero star for rating this horrible place. Irresponsible, irresponsive, and rude staff. You barely can find their office in the building. It is hidden inside the building. I wish I listened to these reviews carefully. We were planning to move from Ohio to Boston and we desperately looking for a nice apartment to rent. We checked the availability of the apartment at river park loft and at that time there was a two-bedroom apartment available matching with the high ends of our budget. So, we contacted them, and they virtually showed us the apartment(so far so good). They showed us the apartment on Saturday, and they told us once you fill out the application the background check will take 24 to 48 hours and after that, we can send you the lease to sign.
