I've lived at Rice Creek Apartments for the past 9 months. The first 2 months were fine and then I started being overcharged for water. Rice Creek uses a third party, Utility Management to bill for water. The readings from the meter installed in your apartment are supposed to accurately compute the amount of water you're using. I started getting $84 and $95 water bills and I told them something was wrong. Well, Demi and Sandy stated I must be using more water than I had the first two months. This went on for several months until they finally sent a Utility Management representative out to check the meter. The representative confirmed what I already knew, that I had a faulty meter. The apartment was DISGUSTING when I moved in. There were moldy strawberries on the floor, the bathroom had obviously never been cleaned, there was a weird sticky sludge on the cabinets. Other than that I had a FINE (not good/not bad) experience living there. HOWEVER, it seems like I’m going to be having a hard time getting my security deposit back. I turned in my keys on June 31st 2023 and was told I’d get it within 30 days. Well it’s been 37 now and I only live a few miles from the apartment. I called on exactly 30 days to see where it was. They told me they have 30-60 days to give it back. Which isn’t true according to their own lease and GA state law. They also said it was “in the mail.” It’s been 7 days since they said that and still no check. I called again on Wednesday and left a voi

Apartment complex seems nice from the pictures on the website but once you get there you realize the complex does not take care of the grounds or tenants. I had multiple issues with my AC, always breaking normally once a month and it was never properly fixed, the AC unit caught fire last summer after maintenance said they had fixed it 6 hours eariler, causing me to call the Fire Department after my apartment filled with smoke, 2 hours after the FD left maintenance replaced the part that caught fire but the unit still has scare marks from the part that caught fire. The trash compactor was always either full and overflowing or broken so they had to bring in dumpsters and those were overflowing within 2 days.
