Never staying at these apartments again. They failed to give me a parking tag then threatened to tow my car, even though it was registered when I signed my lease. They said no holes were allowed to be made on the wall. There was nails and screw all ready on the walls that I noted down on the check list during the move in, and they charged me for it during move out. I had to wait and extra week and a half for move in because of “carpet cleaning”, the carpet was still not clean when I moved in. They also charge me for unclogging the drains. Which I did myself monthly even when they were already clean because they had a shitty sewage system. The closest had no lights. The counters were practically falling apart. I lived in an apartment with Res for five years and left the unit in a clean, well-maintained condition as a tenant. Despite this, I was charged excessive move-out fees, including six hours of “necessary” painting and eight hours of “necessary” cleaning. I was also billed for two new window blinds, even though the blinds in the unit were clean, fully functional, and undamaged. I completed a full video walkthrough before handing over the keys that shows the unit’s condition, so these charges were surprising and feel unjustified. Future residents should be aware of the potential for unreasonable move-out costs.

Best leasing company I’ve leased from in Ames in the 10 years I’ve lived here. Responsive via email/text/phone if issues come up, and very quick with maintenance (everything is usually fixed next business day). Their maintenance guys are also very friendly and polite. Properties are routinely-maintained year-round and un-prompted by residents so they keep a good eye on their properties - this is very different than other companies in Ames and much appreciated. I live in a mostly-RES owned little neighborhood and it’s very quiet and clean. I believe they even have their own little snow removing tractor so our street is even sometimes clearer than city properties. Good snow/ice removal is such an important quality in a Midwest leading company!

The RES team has been great to my roommates and I so far. While the apartment had some slight issues in the beginning with basic maintenance, all of our issues have been fixed promptly. The staff communicates well and even responds on the weekends. I have already signed a lease for next year because we have had such a great experience thus far. They know their stuff, fix maintenance issues in a timely manner, and do not charge egregious rent prices for college students, which is appreciated. My favorite part is all parking spots are assigned, so if any damages were to occur, you would know who is parked next to you / might be liable for damage. Suncrest/Bobcat Drive are beautiful apartment homes and my partner and I have been extremely happy in these apartments. We’ve also rented from RES properties for 18 years and they’re a truly excellent property management company to rent from. Responsive, courteous, and always professional. I HIGHLY encourage you to check their properties out, and especially Suncrest. We’ve been here since 2020 and we couldn’t be happier.
