Penrose on Mass Ave Apartments

Excellent apartment complex building! I have been living here for 9 months and just love it. The offices and maintenance team have exceeded my expectations. Maintenance workorders are resolved between 24 to 48 hrs of opening the request!

Penrose on Mass hides their pricing information on their website to force you to submit your information to generate a lead for them. This isn't egregious and I was aware that they were employing this scheme when I completed my lead form. What I wasn't aware of and really didn't appreciate after submitting my information was how they distributed my lead to seemingly every single member of their sales team. I was bombarded by texts and emails from several Penrose on Mass leasing agents. They were disorganized, uncoordinated, and didn't seem to be referencing any notes that one another took while badgering me, if any notes were taken at all. Great apartment complex. Amazing office staff!!! Lived here for 3 years and wish I was staying longer. A shoutout to the Maintenence team at Penrose, specifically Charles. He is fast, thoughtful, respectful, and goes above and beyond when your place needs any maintenance work done.

Lived here for over 2 years. Perfect location, 4 blocks from either end of Mass Ave, and loved my apartment. If anything was ever wrong (maybe called maintence 3x in 2+ years) they were on it and amazing (Shout out to Robert for being the best and most kind maintenance person I’ve ever met, however, they are all wonderful and friendly.) What is different about Penrose is the leasing reps are all tenured and have been there a long time which is so rare to not have leasing people attrit. They get to know you and get to know your pets names too. I only did not renew as I moved to a different state but have said multiple times since moving that I miss my old apartment and have recommended it to my friends looking for an apartment. Do NOT stay here. My husband and I booked an Airbnb at this property and were absolutely shocked by what we encountered. For the price we paid, we expected at least a clean and safe environment. Instead, we were greeted by a man who appeared to be homeless and was smoking right inside the building. The stairwell reeked of urine, and the hallways smelled strongly of body odor and garbage. It was unsettling to say the least. During our stay, we struck up a conversation with a couple who actually lives in the building. They told us that none of the residents were even aware that multiple units here are being used as Airbnbs with keypad entry. That feels very deceptive and made us even more uncomfortable.
