Patten Towers

I visited a family member who stays here. Although they are very clean people, the place was riddled with roaches and bedbugs. The air conditioning didn't work in 95° weather. I heard horror stories of people's bathrooms backing up and not being addressed for months. Someone literally threw their toilet contents out of a window onto the street below. What's sad is that everyone who stays here is either elderly or disabled. Also, this is HUD housing, so it makes me question how much Chattanooga really cares about their citizens or the state of Tenneseee, for that matter. I am truly appalled and saddened.

Apparently, my last review was deleted. This place is INFESTED with bedbugs. You can literally see them crawling all over people in elevators. My family member who lived there paid rent for a few months up in advance they kicked her out because of her having to call an ambulance. After being evicted, they only gave her two days to move out and refused to refund her money back. I wish I had pictures to show how disgusting this place is. But after a nearly 5 hour trip rushing to move things for said family member, I didn't have the time .

Yea I went to visit a family member who lives on the 5th floor and the room that was literally across from them it smelled like ammonia and trash I thought it was maybe the garbage shoot but they told me that it was mainly the guy that lived there he has a cat that they used to hear meowing a lot and how they never seen someone so filthy and that even though they have reported it management his mom comes and cleans up his messes before they actually look at it I think they need to do a surprise inspection on a lot of these apts especially if it's a man that is apparently so big and lazy he needs his moms help to have a place just saying........ Disgustin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first moved in it was better than I had heard. Now, not so much. At least the view from my 9th floor apartment is good. And the guy who says the tenants don't care, as usual, it just takes a few bad ones to trash it for the rest of us, who DO care. UPDATE 2/20/21 It is so much better now. This new management company has made so many improvements, remodeling the entire building, new pest control (no more bugs), no more fights or police calls and the drug dealers are either gone or have become much more discreet. I have come to enjoy living here. Right downtown with the markets, free venues etc...

NOT SAFE FOR RESIDENTS!!! Only "clean" of urine, feces, meth, and fentanyl when its inspection time. Residents BEG management for working cameras and protection. Government funded apts and they refuse to listen to residents claims of dead bodies creating a smell in the halls. When a body is found they prop the window with the deceased own food items..as the window wouldn't stay open. Please save your loved ones from this place. We've all heard for yrs how bad it is.... eventually the public will know the full truth. But for now, please do not allow your loved ones to move here. Yes, they painted them and made them look "pretty" but unless you are there around inspection time, you are wading through filth. How many 911 call logs show this address? Don't think "it's the only choice for them
