Newrez

Newrez took over our home loan some years ago, and everything has gone pretty well until recently when we switched our homeowners insurance company. The options available were to either email the new policy information or to upload it to their website. We chose to email it. More than a week has passed since we sent the email, and we keep getting letters saying our policy is expired and if they are forced to get coverage for us our payment will increase. Calling has done no good because the first rep promised to take care of the situation which she obviously did not. Our second call we got a rep who apologized but said he didn’t have access to the email where we had sent the information to. My biggest issue is the technology. Called in to request an escrow statement and they cannot create one. On your NewRez account there is a dropdown that says "Escrow" but nothing under the drop down is available. Such as Overview, Accounts, Statements, Disbursements, even analysis which one of those was done but not put under this drop down. I have spoken to Customer Service and he tried to help but has told me to email loan servicing. Then I could no longer hear him and he hung up. I am not even sure there is an escrow dept. Anthony was very knowledgeable in assisting me with a complex divorce refinance, he explained the process in detail, provided me a lower rate than I expected and made the process very easy. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a refinancing or mortgage.

Working with this company has been miserable - little to no communication and nothing but vague answers. Somehow, the title to my mother’s house landed in their lap and the transfer from the previous title company was done incorrectly. Due to medical reasons and increasing financial burdens, my mom needs to sell her house, has a buyer. It was meant to be a quick turnaround, set to close two weeks ago but sneered refuses to release the title - house is paid in full. Only response we’ve had is the company has 30 days to fix the problem. We risk losing our buyer in that time! A new house has already been purchased and we need to move forward with our lives. For all those people who are frustrated with Newrez, here is my advice in getting through to people who can help you. First of all, call early in the morning. You will get better customer service. Demand that you speak with a supervisor or manager who will be your permanent point of contact. Get that person's direct email or phone number that you can call. With a permanent point of contact, you won't have to start over with your complaint or issues with a new person every time you call. It took over a month of calling and frustration to finally get a manager who offered to be my point of contact, and she did a great job. Also, I get the feeling that this company's computer system is not up to the task, and may need some updating and streamlining. Their system automatically generates notice
