I've worked with New Avenue on two separate occasions: once to build a detached ADU and most recently to do a seismic retrofit and a minor remodel of our home. Overall, I've been really happy with their work and open communication. I've experienced some bumps in the ADU build, but the seismic retrofit/remodel experience was fantastic after New Avenue changed their work model and became a full developer (Architect, General Contractor, and all around developer) hiring an amazing General Contracting team. If I had been able to work with the new GC for our ADU this would be an easy five star review.

New Avenue is just fantastic. The founder Kevin was incredibly generous and knowledgeable in walking me through all the options for my backyard project in Oakland. During the research phase, I got to visit a New Avenue project in Berkeley, and the finished work was simply gorgeous. It was clear that expert care went into the design, construction, and finishing details. In the end, our project was too small for New Avenue, but Kevin referred me to a trusted GC with the right team for our job, just another sign of the generosity and professionalism of the whole team. If we ever tackle a bigger project, New Avenue will be my first - and only – call.

New Avenue built an ADU in our backyard in 2016. The high quality build still looks beautiful and brand new. We call it the "guest house" but have used it as an office, a cooking and dining room, a party room... and a guest house. I greatly appreciated that the app kept us and the contractor on the same page budget-wise all the way through. I know from a pre-New Avenue building experience that this isn't always the case. Someday we'll remodel the main house and look forward to working with New Avenue to do so.

New Avenue has been instrumental in supporting our research team at UC Berkeley. Their commitment to sustainability and community resilience is evident as they assisted us in reaching out to residents living in the wildland-urban interface for our study on wildfire risk evacuation & preparedness.
