Murray Place Apartments

I toured the place, seem nice, applied and denied because I smoke nicotine at work. I don't even smoke at home because I have two little children. I explained to them that I only smoke at work and they still denied me. They don't allow residents even if they don't smoke on the premises. Even if they don't smoke at all but smoked previously before. They will still deny. When I toured I have noticed residents smoking cigarettes or vapes and brought it to their attention. They said they will look into that immediately. Because they don't allow residents who smoke at all... EVEN IF IT'S NOT ON THE PREMISES. I Understand if it was someones house and they are renting their basement... But an apartment complex should not have a say on what we do outside of the premises.

I went for a tour here. Absolutely no respect for the PROSPECTIVE TENANT. This was a self guided tour, so management provided me a code for a lockbox on the door. When I showed up, the door was unlocked. I’ll start with the uninhabitable conditions I saw when I toured the apartment. The AC was set to 68 but the room temperature was 86, and there was barely any water pressure in the shower or kitchen sink. The bathroom was disgusting. Someone had tried dumping something they were not supposed to down the toilet and left a huge stain all over the toilet bowl. There was a beer can and bottle opener out, cable jacks all over the floor. The window screen was hanging off the window. The oven range fan didn’t work either. If they can’t even get their apartment together for a tour I have no idea

Lived here for 7 years and be wary! I have had my car broken into and my motorcycle was stolen twice. Neighbors have also had similar things happen. With it being so close to state street people tend to wander down here and there are no lights in the parking areas. I paid on time and was never late, but they refused to work with me when I got a new job and had to move and break my lease with only 2 months left. I know I signed a contract but at least try to work with people who have sudden life events. There are better places with similar rent costs.

One of the porch lights has water damage and flashes when turned on and has been doing this for awhile now. I found it annoying so I tried to contact the managers about it but they never got back to me. Also have heard from some tenants they don't take care of you very well there. Edit: They did replace the light a couple of weeks after I reached out, but they still never messaged me back.

These apartments are actually not to bad located right off the free way. Also walking distance to restaurants and Barnes and noble and bestbuy. JOCELIN with concept has been very helpful every time we have called. The apartment could use a little bit of a update and some more lighting in the parking lot but other than that it's i good place to live for the price 👍
