I would give this place a zero if I could. they are trying to defy new state law, saying you can't park your own pickup or work truck in your own driveway. That's not right and against the law. Most pickup cost more then there cars do. So I would not recommend anyone live here.

Do not move here. Once great. This place is going downhill fast. Country club bankrupt, HOA board turn over, HOA disregards members, and on top of HOA fees they will charge you gym fees, pool access fees, and a developer is about to gain a foothold. The best days of this place are clearly in the past. Stuck in 1985.

Interesting that old reviews are positive and new ones, not so much. I’m new here and notice lots of negatives, and more popping up all the time. I do not own a truck, but the Meadows still does not allow trucks - a negative elitist viewpoint from 50 years ago and in violation of Florida state law. I walk everyday and the publicized walking paths are falling apart. Up close the landscape is also. And how can I forget to mention the “award - winning golf courses”? The are no longer winning anything because they are CLOSED.

The community is labeled as "pet-friendly," not specifically a retirement community, though many residents are older. Despite the pet-friendly label, quite a few people specifically at LONG COMMON Association dislike pets, which says a lot. Some neighbors tend to complain anonymously about almost anything, and a few barely manage a "hello" through gritted teeth.

Horrible HOA. They charge $500 per pickup truck and you have to park it 2 miles away in a "reserved" area. If you own a truck you better sell it before moving in here, you'll be paying more in fines and parking than the actual car note.
