Lennar at Westwood

Be sure to read your contract carefully. (As we always should, I know!) My daughter was going to buy a Lennar house in League City, TX. She paid $5,000 in earnest money and after the option period passed, they told her that there was an issue with a part to get electricity to the house. They would have to move the closing date back 3 months. She had already given notice to her landlord. In order to extend her lease they were going to charge her an extra $800 above what she normally paid per month in rent to go month to month. Lennar refused to pay the extra. It was too late to get her earnest money back as well… according to the contract, Lennar had the right to push the closing date back up to TWO YEARS! Buyer beware!

We feel like Lennar uses cheap contractors and the lack of quality of the work shows in a few short years. From plumbing, bathtub materials, to roofing and anything in between. Their maintenance service happily declines your request whenever they have a chance. When we first moved in we got issues with plumbing when water drained very slowly. The bath tubs quickly got scratched by the plastic bath toys. Recently we got an issue with the roof. Their roofing contractor used plastic vent pipe flashings instead of metals and these cheap plates quickly cracked when Beryl came. We got leaks for our 2 year old house when our parents' 20 year old house did not! Water went down and wet the bathroom area. We called their maintenance and they said it was out of warranty! They only warrantied the roof

So many great floorplans to choose from and in an excellent location. Excellent place for a family to purchase their first home
