Absolutely horrid. The apartments are made to look luxurious, but the second you move in you realize that this is not the case. Walls are so paper thin that we can hear the people BELOW us sometimes, so I can’t imagine how loud it is for tenants that have people living above them. Our apartment had paint splotches everywhere, even on our couch (I seriously don’t even know how this is possible). They add ridiculous fees to your account and typically provide zero information on why, and if you call and ask you will never get a straight answer. Additionally, me and my roommates had bugs in our rooms for the first month we lived here and had to get rid of them ourselves. Not spiders or ants, actual bugs that would consistently bite and irritate our skin. Additionally, they make empty promises
UPDATED BELOW IN RESPONSE TO THE LARK Formerly known as The Current - guessing the name change is the run from the reviews. If I could give a 0 ratting I definitely would. The place is loud, dirty, and they are trying to bill us for expenses we did not incur. When my daughter and her friends moved in their rooms were filthy, someone else's dirty clothes under the bed, etc. However, they were freshman and did not really know better so they cleaned up and moved on. Their stove did not work so they reported that to maintenance. Another stove was brought in and it was also filthy with food burned into the bottom. The kids took it and cleaned the best they could. Once moved out they've billed inconsistently, some of the roommates paid for things the others did not in the common areas.
My daughter lived at The Lark Bloomington, and the property showed consistent operational issues including noise, poor cleanliness, and unreliable building services. The management and name change did not resolve the concerns we observed during the lease term, and the move-out process included multiple unexpected, unreasonable fees. You should be skeptical of the Lark’s online reviews, as students were incented to post favorable feedback in exchange for rent. The Lark does not need to reply to this review, as the expectation is simply that they improve the standard of what they provide to IU students and the Bloomington community. Save the scripted responses and focus on delivering a better product so future residents do not face the same issues. Based on our experience, I would highly rec
Terrible management. Just aggressively bad. Hope you don’t have to meet Jessica! Update: The (possibly automated) reply says “we are committed to addressing any issues. Please contact our office so we can discuss your concerns and work towards a solution”. This is total BS. Do you think I didn’t bring this up with them already? They don’t want to fix the problem because that would mean accepting liability for the property damage caused by by their defective sprinkler system. They think that they can save money by stonewalling us and hoping that they don’t get sued. They are absolutely screwing with us and they have no intent to change.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I subleased here and had one of the worst housing experiences of my life. The management at Current Latimer Square does not care about their residents, they only about charging fees and avoiding accountability. I was misled about rent adjustments, falsely told the shuttle would take me to the hospital (which it didn’t, and it was discontinued with no warning), and repeatedly dealt with safety issues like a broken fob, a front door secured with a ZIP TIE, and fire alarms going off in the middle of the night. I barely stayed in the apartment for the last two months of my lease, yet they still charged me cleaning fees for shared spaces I didn’t even use and refused to take responsibility for anything ,including their lack of transparency about deposits a
