horrible experience with the property manager at 1 6 2 1 S west*g*te Sarah stone back and Flor the maintenance lady. The ceiling leaked. The walls are being ripped out. They say this is still habitable. Would you live like this? EDIT: they took $1,600 from my security deposit for paint! (Picture included)

My experience with KMK Management throughout my tenancy was consistently frustrating and stressful, largely due to repeated interactions with Sarah Stoneback, the property supervisor assigned to my unit. Communication issues were ongoing from early in my tenancy through move out. Responses were often delayed, dismissive, or defensive, and reasonable questions were met with shifting explanations instead of clear answers. One of the most concerning experiences occurred when my apartment sustained water damage. Despite visible damage and disruption to the unit, I was initially told the apartment was “habitable.” I had to push repeatedly for the situation to be taken seriously and to secure alternative accommodations. I rented a reasonably priced studio on Stoner Ave from them for about 16 months. Overall, it was a good experience. When I made maintenance requests they usually got resolved within a couple days. Moving out process was easy but I do think I got overcharged for the cleaning fee (almost $300 to clean a studio that was in pretty okay shape) and paint/fix fee (about $800 which I could see cause the walls were some weird material that fell apart when I took out screws from the wall).

I’ll give them one star only because Yani delivered such care and concern when I moved. (She’s really the only one who knows what’s going on) But overall, I find the company very distasteful and greedy. They insisted that I had to move in immediately that the apartment was 100% ready and yet I moved in - they had to replace all the windows…. The workers that they had come in my unit urinated on the toilet seat and on the floor - they had to replace the heater… the oven was 7 inches from the wall because they didn’t want to install the right sized pipe. there was just a lot of chaos at first- and it was their greediness to insist that I move in immediately otherwise I would lose the apartment - just for me to get there and have to deal with the workers for weeks.
