Warning to Prospective Tenants: Run Far Away from Keahumoa Place and the Michaels Organization! Keahumoa Place is not a place to rent. My family and I lived in their unit, always paid rent on time, and kept the unit clean. Yet management mishandled our $1,000 security deposit and $500 pet fee, which we later learned is non-refundable even if there’s no damage—making it essentially pointless. My father moved out with my sisters in August 2025, and waited over two months (60+) for our deposit. Staff repeatedly told us the office manager, Amanda Westmoreland, was “working on our paperwork.” After 60+ days, Amanda emailed claiming they were keeping our deposit and charging an additional $1,100 for “damaged blinds” and cleaning fee—charges we never received notice of. Complaint: Keahumoa NOT giving my parents back their security deposit! My father always paid his rent on time, and he gave $1000 for the deposit, plus $500 for the pet fee. Well, on August 20, 2025 he and my sisters moved out. He waited over 2 months to get back his deposit, and the manager of Keahumoa Place just sent my father an email informing him that they are keeping his deposit over damaged blinds and a cleaning fee, plus she mentioned that she sent him a bill for a cleaning fee and for the blinds, which he didn't receive, as he checked the mail daily. So, you're telling us that a cleaning fee and fixing the blinds costs over $1500?! We think that Keahumoa is trying to keep our security deposit on purpose because they spent it. We love our little neighborhood, Most of the staff have been great, through the years. Washer/Dryer hookup, Bathtub- I call that good. It’s on the smaller side of apartments but it’s home. Thank you Apo and Cheryl for always helping, your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

I lived here when they leased apartments and the process was smooth with the leasing agent Jacqueline. We moved in the 3 bdrm 2 bath. I enjoyed living here. Nobody really bothers you. Nice community. Before our lease ended, I applied for the housing. We was put on the interest list, then the waiting list and more than 6 months later, we got a call from Dexter asking if we’re still interested. If i could give this place's customer service a zero, i would. While we initially had a pretty good experience with Brandon showing us around and telling us about the requirements for this type of project, that quickly changed. We had set up an appointment with Brandon to provide all required documentation to start the application process. When we show up, i learn that someone we'd never seen or heard of before was the one that would conduct the process. No big deal for me, but this person wasn't even aware that we would be there that day. There was no communication between this woman and Brandon so she got upset because she had "another interview" set up and didn't have any time for us. While I can understand being blindsided like that, there was no reason for this woman to treat us lik
