Ivy at Fairfax Apartments

Building is run down with zero maintenance. Repeated clogged toilet, sink and bathtub drainage issues. Administration does nothing about it. Elevators still smell like urine. Repeated heating issues- you DO NOT CONTROL your heat. I pay $2200 a month and froze 2 weeks. I literally purchased 2 space heaters. Vandalism and theft from the tenants. Homeless men frequent the bldg. Found men sleeping in the hallways on the frigid days. Easy access to the bldg considering the entry door locks are in ALWAYS in constant need of repair. Parking is excessively expensive ($165 )a month not to mention the lot is two blocks away. Parking is seperate from rent (additional expense) Still to date they never fixed the ceilings or walls from excessive water damage (see pictures below) the building is

Residents will open your packages and steal your items as soon as they are delivered. Building is very run down; zero maintenance. Update: 3 month living here and on average my packages or mail is getting stolen twice a month. Administration does nothing about it. Elevators still smell like dog urine. Update: 1 year living here total number of stolen packages >10 and long time residents are fleeing. Management refuses to do anything about the packages. Maintenance is still horrid with urine soaked elevators, dirty lobby, trash in hallways. Additionally, Ivy employees will steal your parking spots that you rent in nearby lots and the lots have a deal with them to not tow Ivy employees cars.

Before you rent here, I urge you to look at reviews for Ivy Residences (and their former name, Hyde Park Property Management). And if you still decide to tour the place, don't get bedazzled by new appliances and finishes - look for gaps where radiators and other plumbing enter the walls, wide spaces between ventilation grates, and cracks in walls and floors. If you see those gaps - know that in this building you will get infested with roaches, mice, and bedbugs (if the unit doesn't already have a hidden infestation). There's no reason that a new renter like Jerrett below should have had to deal with mice coming out of a hole in his floor if management was on top of simple fixes during apartment turnover. The apartments themselves were nice but after about a week I began to see little mice running back and forth across my stove and into a hole in the floor in my kitchen. Seeing them became a common occurrence and it was a problem for neighbors in my building as well. Closer to the end of my lease I began to see roaches crawling in different areas of the house. Before moving there I read reviews that roaches were a problem in the building as well but I had not seen one for months. My daughter finally saw one in my room and then they began to pop up everywhere. During and after my move from Ivy Residences I began to see roaches crawling all over my bed frame, in the kitchen of the apartment and the bathroom. I do believe I carried some over into my new apartment from my old one and now I have

Lived there for 14 months in a 1bedroom 1bathroom apt. Saw mouse inside my unit multiple times. Packages were frequently opened and items were stolen from the lobby.
