My unit’s walls were literally painted plywood. There was no light switch to turn off the kitchen light, when maintenance came they said nothing could be done about it. The only way to turn it off was with the breaker. Our washer and dryer were constantly messed up, and at one point it was almost a month before it was fixed because the vendors they usually have to work on them do not work with them anymore (i wonder why?) But worst of all, last July when I was on vacation, one of their vendors mistakenly entered my unit thinking it should be vacant and started clearing out my house. We moved in in June of this year, and since then we have yet to have safe drinking water. It’s the last half of September and after months of trying to figure things out and get updates it’s repeatedly gotten pushed under the rug. Our water is orange. I left an ice tray in the sink, and the next morning there was rust settled in the bottom. Three months and little to no updates is getting out of hand. The only time we get updates is when we catch a maintenance member and we stop them to have them call for information. It isn’t fair that for months now my partner, pet, and I are unable to drink our water, use our washing machine, and take showers comfortably. Mind you, on the showers and sinks we attached filters, and EVEN WITH FILTERS the water is orange. I should be able to use my washing

Always less than professional communication from staff whenever anything came up over the course of our lease. We requested a maintenance check on hvac in early winter which was pending for weeks as our power bill skyrocketed. Never received a maintenance visit & the request fell off our portal- with no follow up or response from the office. After a backed up toilet issue, they added a plumbing charge to our rental portal which was 10x the average rate for typical services provided. Ridiculous “resource fee” added to rent each month which feels like it’s for the management company doing absolutely nothing!

Don’t know whether to fault hidden creek or the property owner here but since moving in, our house has had an absurd amount of issues. The newest, among many, is MOLD. The pictures you see here are just from having these belongings stored in my bedroom (that doesn’t have a window). The mold has ruined my only back pack, guitar cases/straps, clothes, and part of my comforter. The pillow in these pictures was what was currently on my bed…. Aside from the newly found mold problem, the first time I tried to do laundry here I started to smell something burning. Turns out, when I took the entire dryer door apart, it was covered in layers of old, crusty lint. This could have easily caused a fire had the dryer cycle ran it’s full course. I've lived in Boone for over a decade and had many landlords throughout that time. They have all been great, but Hidden Creek easily stood out in the 3+ years we've been tenants with them. Maintenance requests are addressed very promptly and the people performing the service have always been professional and pleasant. The folks at the office are courteous, diligent, and responsive. They even go to the trouble of reminding you about incoming cold weather and office closures so you can plan ahead and take precautions as needed, never had a landlord that did this. The properties are well-kept and there's great transparency regarding their details, so no surprises when you move in.
