Hawaiiana Management Co Ltd

I have had a horrible experience working with Hawaiiana Management Company, whom the Alii Villas Association Board chose as our condo management vendor. I found Nan Cain to be extremely unprofessional. She did not respond to emails in a timely manner, follow through was poor and a simple issue like changing the mailing address did not happen for months and after 3 requests. The tone in correspondences from Nan and her billing department were irreverent and made me feel like anything but a customer. There are many property management companies in Kona that are excellent. I know because we had a few of them prior to Hawaiiana Management Company Ltd. I would definitely not recommend this management company.

My experience with this company is spotty. Constantly being charged Late Fees (i paid but some reason it didn't go through and no one alerted me), fees changed or the wrong info being told. Up-charged fees started and we aren't able to use any of the amenities the HOA is supposed to provide. Key doesn't work for pool, i emailed them about this and even asked how to get a replacement. Got nothing back, haven't been able to use the pool a year later, now the pool is closed.

My first check(s?) As an associate went to a manager's account, and they blamed me for filling out my direct deposit documentation wrong, so after I repeatedly contacted them and them telling me it was my fault, I went to their office and asked to see the document, and behold! It wasnt in my handwriting for the bank account information... So after telling them I would get the police involved for a case of theft, they ended up finding which manager it was deposited to, and apologized. If I was living paycheck to paycheck, I wouldn't be still working for them. I told the general manager that when he called to "formally apologize". Accidents do happen, but it shouldnt take such detective work and threats to get such things rightfully resolved.

Discrimiates against disabled American War Fighters by using illegal account methods to hide fines from other owners of Alii Cove by placing those fines in the Aliicove AOAO attorney's account. The management uses the police to control you if you disagree with them. Horrid company criminally incompetent.

I own a property managed by Hawaiianna. I have found them both responsible and responsive. Very happy with them. Our property is looking great and is well managed.
