Harvest Landing by DR Horton

Residents of Harvest Landing community in Rockledge Florida, unlike other DR Horton communities received raw deal as far as use of material for the kitchen countertop, kitchen island and the two bathrooms is concerned. Usually DR Horton uses marble but in Harvest Landing the residents had to be contended with wood. Immediately after moving in the new house I had to pay for basic thing like the venetian blind for the glass sliding door in the rear of the house because DR Horton decided to cut corners. I did not involve any agent at the time of closing the deal, so ideally DR Horton should have provided me 3% discount on the price of my house. But that did not happen. FLORIDA TRANSPLANTS: DO NOT MOVE HERE. Walk nextdoor to the Sierra Lakes community, a DR Horton community. Look at the wall, ask them how that is going. They are currently in legal battle trying to get their crumbling wall fixed after DR Horton built it with FOAM, against code and then walked away after former Sierra Lakes HOA president signed a doc that released the developer of any responsibility in the future. Drive around Sierra Lakes and see how many homes need stucco repair, have water damage, etc. Don't take the word of some stranger on the internet, go and look for yourself. Talk to residents of Sierra Lakes, see what they say about DR Horton homes.

I would rate them lower than one star, but this app doesn't allow that. The two sisters that run the sales office here laughed when I asked what options there were for the homes. They said, with so many people coming to Florida and buying new homes they don't have to offer any options. They build all the homes the same with few options except color of the house and which floor plan you choose. The sales women told me the houses are basically cookie cutter, so everybody's homes are the same. For example, the master bath only comes with a shower! I told her that other Home Builders would allow you to choose a garden tub or some other option for a shower tub in the master bath. No Deal here. You're not allowed to have Garden sheds. You're not allowed to make any changes to your house unles

Great neighborhood, quiet, and in a great location! I would give 5 stars but interior design options are set in stone and the construction crews have a history of lacking attention to detail so it's worth your time to pay for a detailed home inspection.
