My wife and I have been without heat for the majority of November, it’s been 25-35 degrees outside and our house has been freezing. We have been in constant communication with the the property manager Kim, the company she works for “Got properties “ and the company they hired to fix the problem. When I called the heating company to see if they would be by to finish the work, they told me that they were still waiting on the owner to approve the work. I’m thinking this is a health hazard, it’s below 30, this should be an emergency. When I asked Kim will there be an adjustment to the rent she blatantly told me no, they couldn’t do that and that she pays mortgage and if her heat went out she would be responsible. My small 4-unit apartment building on Shenandoah Ave in St. Louis was sold to “Meet Me in St. Louis LLC” (an investor from New York), and I inherited Got Properties as the property manager. They immediately began to turn all of the other units into themed short term rentals, including a Barbie-themed unit “for bachelorette and birthday parties.” It was a nightmare—common doors were left unlocked and parties were loud and frequent. I overheard a man discussing whether he would bring a gun or a knife to Mardi Gras. I could hear people urinating and snoring. TVs blared at all hours. At one point, during a tornado warning, I ended up in the shared cellar with a man who appeared to be high, and he tried to hold my hand as the tornado sirens went off. I made the mistake of giving them a chance when a majority of the reviews about the company that I read were negative and showed that there were both serious issues and concerns with their properties, personnel, and how they operate as a whole. While I lived in a property managed by Got Properties? Inc. I had ongoing issues with mice, and roaches, as well as plumbing problems in the kitchen, homeless people living in the stairwell between the units, damage to property in the basement by the homeless people who broke in, issues with the exterior door not working allowing access to my unit, and issues with the parking lot. We are new tenants. The owner decided to sale to this company and it’s been a world wind to say the least. We have been without heat for 3 weeks now (going on 4 weeks). We were contacted (By Kim S. “The Property Manager” which says HER ONLY job is to tell residents to dos and don’t from the insurance perspective) that we can’t have a trampoline because their insurance company doesn’t cover that for the home (weird and a bit upset my husband took it down). We weren’t even notified that someone would be coming to look around or inspect what we have in our yard. I knew at this point that we would be in for a ride with these people. Awful people. Maintenance guy turned up the heat to max before I left in the dead of winter to charge me a huge final bill for gas. They tried scamming me for a months rent and tried playing dumb when I confronted them. Also tried raising the rent a couple times than what was agreed upon, and you won't find peace with these guys showing up at your door all the time because they want to look through for some reason and then make faces at your decorations. Typical brown nosers but they can do it legally. Not very nice people who just want to make money and not actually provide people with a place to live. They told me the place was newly renovated and then when I moved in the toilet chain was so rusty it broke within the first week. They took half my deposit to fix it, but taking your whole
