Living there was just so so. Cops were there a LOT! Very sketchy tenants. But moving out was a nightmare! I called several times trying to get every detail of what I needed to have done to give proper notice and whatever else they needed from me. I received different directions from each person I spoke to. My lease was actually ending so it should be no problem right? Once I moved I spent lots of time cleaning the place spotless. I lived alone so it wasn’t even bad. They charged me for everything they could think to make up! I lived on the third floor and was out on the balcony shortly after I moved in and the screen door locked behind me. I was stuck on the third floor and had to break the screen to get back in. They said they fixed it but when I moved they charged me for the screen door
The price is attractive compared to living costs in Fort Collins, but the drop in feelings of safety, ammenities, and support from the leasing office is not worth it. It covers the basics of an apartment. I have lived here for around 2+ years and tend to live and let live. After a frustrating situation with the leasing office stickering my car for removal rather than reaching out to me, I feel the issues have tipped over and I will begin looking for somewhere else to live. This review is to give warning to people who may be considering Fossil Ridge. Issues: There have been 3 shootings I am aware of since living here, and police are frequently out here. Drug deals can occasionally be caught in the breezeways. While maybe an issue with USPS, mail is not properly delviered here. Sometimes
2 months after moving out, I received a bill for carpet replacement due to "dark stains". Not only did they keep my $600 deposit, but also want me to pay an additional $630. PRIOR to moving out, someone walked through the apartment with me and saw no issues. I also shampooed the carpet prior to leaving and saw no visible stains, certainly nothing that couldn't be spot removed by a professional cleaning company, which is part of their process after each turnover. The carpet was 5 years old and, again, had zero visible stains upon my moving out. You are also charged for cleaning, which is completely ridiculous considering that even if you clean everything meticulously, they will still have a cleaning company clean. Charges for cleaning are only a responsibility of the tenant moving out if
Prepare to get absolutely bent over when you move out, regardless of condition you leave the apartment. Left a meticulously clean apartment, freshly unblemished shampoo'd carpets, pristine clean oven and counters, even went as far to clean the walls free of dust and any blemishes. Then gave notice we were not renewing the lease, and gave a 28 day notice. We ended up being charged for an extra month along with other "fees" because we didnt give a 30 day notice. Give me a break. bad enough there was a drug sting operation at the complex and police regularly being there from time to time that myself and a few other residents got to witness. Pretty cool. renter beware, there's no shortage of places to live, this would not be my first choice.
I lived there for a year and Julian (Property Manager) is not very professional at all. He's friendly when you look at the place, but after you move in he treats you differently. My apartment flooded due to a neighbor of mine leaving their washing machine on while it was pouring water out for at least 12 hours. I had to live in a different location for a week while the cleaners came to dry out the carpet and the complex would not even give me a credit even though I could not stay in my apartment. The maintenance guy supposedly fixed the trim (see photos), but even an amateur could do a better job. When I moved out I left the apartment cleaner than when I moved in, but he still kept $84 of my deposit. Keep in mind, this is an active construction zone so there is a lot of dirt and dust
