The lack of action agains the frequent car break-ins in the paid parking lots that offer no security outside of unmanned cameras is extremely upsetting. This place has been on the downwards trend since we moved in 2 years ago. The upkeep of the amenities and general cleanliness is quite disappointing compared to other similar buildings in the area, so I would not make this place your first choice if you’re looking for nice amenities and safe parking. Ana, the building manager, is fantastic and she does what she can, but it seems that the complaints of the tenants fall on deaf ears when it comes to upper management. Many of the tenants have been filing complaints for months with absolutely no changes. If you have other options in mind, I would consider prioritizing them instead of this pl

Moved into the Fortress 6 months ago. The Building Manager and Maintenance people are great. The neighbors are great. However the current ownership is terrible. They do not address our needs and take too long to resolve issues. The biggest problem is safety and security of cars in our parking lots. The KIA boys of Milwaukee break into or steal at least 1 car every 2 weeks. We need round the clock security and that has not been provided. We pay $75 per spot with no security. Thinking of moving if something is not done soon.

I really enjoyed my ~16 months here. Beautiful interiors, my favorite view of the city from the rooftop, no problems with the apartment itself, responsive management, nice gym. If I find myself needing to rent in MKE ever again, this place would be at the top of my list. Five stars because the following never caused issues for me, but a couple things to be aware of; The parking is fenced in but with no locking gate, so people have had problems with break-ins. The walls to the hallway are a little thin, so you can definitely hear when someone walks by. I could see this being annoying in a busier corridor. The mailroom is a mess, but I never had a package go missing.

Beautiful building a quarter mile from Milwaukee river and the Oak Creek Trail and five minutes from Lake Michigan. The high ceilings, granite counters and brick accent make for a great backdrop for whatever your style is. Management and maintenance were extremely accommodating, making the moving process and any of the minor issues that came up over the course of the year easy to manage. Highly recommend the building to anyone looking for a centrally located luxury unit.

I lived in the Fortress for over a year and loved every second of it! The building offered amazing ammeneties like the expansive gym, trendy club room, dog grooming station, indoor bike storage, and so much more. The management of The Fortresss are the kindest I have ever come across. They truly do care about your experience and safety at all times. Yes location is always key - The Fortress has a great location right in the heart of Brewers Hill. The Fortress is located right next to amazing restaurants, bars, and cafes. Like the outdoors?
