Five Star Suites

My roommate and I have been living here since Aug 2012. You can't beat the price for living in this area (Franklin Village, Griffith Park, Hollywood/Vine are all walking distance). We have a fantastic view of the DTLA and Hollywood skylines. We can see Long Beach on a clear day. As others have mentioned, there have been maintenance issues from time to time, but Pat is a wonderful building manager -- prompt with updates, incredibly friendly, quick to respond to texts/calls. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

I truly enjoy living here. Like all places the building has its share of problems, but what I love and appreciate about the management is when I report a problem they immediately fix it. This place, it's view and its manager Pat Lynn are Five Stars.

I lived here 1 year. 2024-2025. My car was stolen from a closed garage. I asked them every day to turn on the camera about the theft and show it to me. They didn't give it to me. 10 days. The elevator breaks down twice a week. The dishwasher wasn't working since I moved in. It hasn't been repaired for a year. And I asked how many times. It's not a bad place actually. It's normal for it to be like this considering its price. The prices increase every month. Trash fee, sewer, admin fee ..... When I asked the reason, they said it increased in other buildings as well. The real reason was that they installed new windows. It was to get some kind of money out of us. But I asked the residents of the building in the neighborhood and they said there was no such thing. And finally I was able to get o

After an amazing two years of living in a great townhouse together, my partner and I are hitting the road and transitioning to the van life; leaving LA for the long haul. February 2021 marks my 10 year anniversary of living in LA and there hasn't been a better place to call home than Five Star Suites. I should preface that I've also lived in a higher unit for year facing the hills before upgrading to the 3-floor 2BR townhome facing Hollywood and Downtown LA. Both views are truly breathtaking. Tip: if you like the morning sunrise, go with a unit facing Hollywood. If you prefer the afternoon/evening sunset, go with an apartment facing the Hills. Here's some of the perks I've factored when moving here: - First off, Pat is an amazing manager and will respond promptly at all hours of the day.

I’ve lived here for 6 years. Pat, the landlord, is great, and the rest of the staff is as well. Tonya is an angel, too. Maintenance fixes any issues promptly, which is impressive considering how big the building is.
