If you’re considering moving here, please take the glowing 5-star reviews with caution. Many seem to come from people on tours (this isn’t a petting zoo, no need to review a tour) or from new tenants who haven’t yet experienced the reality of living here. There is absolutely nothing “luxury” about this property. As many reviews point out, maintenance is unreliable at best—you’ll often need to reopen requests or follow up multiple times just to get basic issues addressed. Amenities are either constantly out of order, under repair, or simply non-existent. The complex itself is outdated, roach-infested, and instead of updating the units, management seems to focus only on renovating the leasing office to lure in prospective tenants. My living experience with Five Oaks was below average at best. The maintenance crew onsite is the only redeemable quality about this property as they are easy to contact and come to fulfill orders within 24 hours (sometimes same day). Because of this, I could count on them to maintain my apartment to suitable living conditions. The below average rating goes for everything else associated with this community. I am sharing this review because I think other considering this community should hear from someone who stayed there for 2.5 years. - Amenities: We decided to get a lease with Five Oaks specifically for their amenities, including the valet trash, gated community, pool access, pet grooming room/dog park, mailing room system and onsite gym. DOES ANYBODY WORK IN THIS LEASING OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bro, this has got to be the worse application experience I have ever had. I scheduled an appointment for a tour. Great tour. And I applied. It has been ALMOST TWO WEEKS AND NOTHING!!!!! I have called every single day, no answer. Different times a day, no answer. I email, no response. I left a voicemail, no response. How????????? How is that even possible? There is NO time of day that a single individual is in the office??????? I'm tryna be cool but actual money has been involved, yall are nuts! What the heck! That literally makes no sense, not even a call back? Oh I KNOW the residents are going through it because if they cant even answer the PHONE at ANY TIME OF THE DAY or CALL BACK or EMAIL BACK then how will anything get done once yo
DO NOT RENT HERE! Pegasus management is the worst! The do not return emails or answer calls. The office staff is non-responsive as well. They never answer the phone. I lived at Five Oaks for 13 years and I enjoyed it before Pegasus took over. Maintenance requests take forever, my apt constantly smelled like weed. Complaints go unaddressed. I recently relocated for a new job opportunity and vacated my apt on 2/10, my least was up on 2/14. The last communication I received from Yakita on 2/19 was that it would take up to 30 days to receive my deposit check, I paid my remaining balance on 2/22. I have not received my deposit. I’ve made numerous calls to the office and 2 calls to Corporate with no call back. I’ve sent several emails to the office staff with no answer. Save yourself the headach
I normally don’t leave reviews, but the level of neglect I’ve experienced here deserves attention. I have been without a working washer for a long time, and I’ve contacted management multiple times asking for it to be repaired. Each time, I either received no response or was told someone would “look into it,” yet nothing has been done. It’s extremely inconvenient, and it shows a lack of respect for residents who pay to live here. Maintenance requests should be handled in a timely and professional manner, and that has not been my experience at all. If you’re considering moving here, be aware that getting essential repairs done may be a challenge.
