Fairway Village at Stoney Creek

When I moved here last year, the spacious apartment with enough storage space and biggest square footage I could find in NC and VA for the amount, dazzled me. I wasn't warned about all of the changes that suddenly were happening shortly after I moved. Third party vendors being constantly added, and Duke making changes suddenly. We aren't warned ahead of time for important maintenance things, with a day or two at best. But lately, things have been going downhill. The after hours maintenance line is useless. The dog park is bare. Hardly anyone takes their pups in there. We need more doggie bag stations, yet that hasn't changed. Cockroaches are still definitely a thing and pest control comes at a set time, but we have to deal with them ourselves if it isn't enough. The fridge was messed up fo

(NES) that handles water bills for the property, and all parties involved, needs to be audited or investigated. Tenant should not be charged what They think the usage is, but the actual usage. If there is no usage because tenant is away for a period of time, then charge for actual usage, and not for non usage. Unethical. There are discrepancies when comparing Duke Energy which appears accurate. You call customer service and their is a rush to avoid questions. The address is weeds and grass.

The property manager Norene is very rude and will call other tenants to ask about you. The walls are super thin and you will hear everything that goes on in your neighbors apartment. She can see someone come visit and will call and ask you if they live there as if you can’t have company at your own apartment. I’ve seen the maintenance guy harrass and younger gentlemen and accuse him of smoking when he was simply walking back to his apartment. The maintenance guy was yelling at him so loud that many of us could hear. This place is a joke. Save yourself the headache and go to the new apartments down the street.

The walls are thin, you can hear walking and talking. The apartments are new and spacious but were not well built almost like they were thrown together quickly. Have had issues such as sockets not working, dishwasher leaking, ac not working, doors not fitting properly and hard to close. The neighbors seem nice here and seems like a safe place. The rent is way too high and really outweighs the overall quality of the apartments. Rules such as no smoking are enforced here. While it's great if you don't smoke, it seems a bit much since smoking cigarettes is legal in our country and seems like treating working adults who pay rent here like children when you see them hiding their smokes outside.

I am happy to say that I have lived here at Fairway Village for five years with the original Property Manager. I continue to praise her, because she does a wonderful job here! I am very impressed with the urgency to get issues resolved. There are many communities in the area, however I am pleased to live here at Fairway Village.
