We met Josh Bauer-Boyd through an open house for a property he was selling. Josh presents as an honest, straight-forward guy, but we learned that wasn’t the case — the hard way. We ultimately ended up making an offer on this home after said open house. Now, I know the market is crazy, but this was just poor form… We submitted our offer later in the evening and followed-up with Josh to see when they’d be taking the time to review it. He had actually been bowling at that time with the sellers (it is a family friend, as he told us), and they’d be sitting down to look at it in the morning. Our Realtor from Edina Realty was prompt and helpful as we worked to find a home. Unfortunately, as we moved into the closing process for our new home we began to run into difficulties. At the start of our home closing we notified Edina that we planned to be on vacation during the closing date and would need to assign a power of attorney. Even with my numerous requests to ensure everything was completed prior to our departure, the closing was less than smooth. Setting a power of attorney is a rather common practice in Realty. Our closing team, however, seemed unprepared to execute smoothly. My dissatisfaction was compounded once we returned from our trip and found out about the difficult closing process.
