D.S. Murphy Inspections - Atlanta, GA

I hired two inspectors, one right after the other. DS Murphy finished inspecting a 3500 sq foot house in about 2 hours. They missed the broken basement sump pump that was causing sewage to back up from the toilet, foundation cracks (which I had to have inspected by a foundation expert), and mold near the inside vents. These were issues I found out about from a competing inspection company (Above Grade Inspections) that performed their inspection a few hours after DS Murphy. I ended up not moving forward with the house because the seller would not repair these issues. I would not have known about them had I hired only DS Murphy.

At first this company came off as very professional and felt they were going to take care of me. I was out of state when the inspection happened which is probably the first issue. With specific instructions to check all windows for smooth operation and functionality, this item was completely lied about simply to ensure the deal goes through smoothly. All windows have significant issues with their operation on a very expensive home, weather strips on the windows are broken, and one window doesn't open at all. None were clearly tested and I was lied to on the phone during the inspection that "these are the smoothest windows I've ever operated". Complete B.S. Also, we found significant signs of mold in all the vent covers with mold starting to spread. I'm glad I got my HVAC systems vacuumed
