Purchasing our new DRB home was a very positive experience overall. Unlike many buyers who start from the ground up with lot selection, design choices, and the full build process, we purchased a spec home and therefore did not go through the full custom experience. That said, we couldn’t be happier with how smoothly the process went. Timing was critical for us since we needed to sell our previous home quickly to align with the delivery deadline of the new one. We purchased our home in May 2025 (in VA) and have been very happy with DRB. Were there issues along the way? Absolutely. But, how many of us can say that all of our work is perfect? The true test of a company is how they handle it when concerns are raised and, from the start, DRB handled all of ours promptly and professionally. Communication was clear and timely and they were beyond patient with all of our questions. They kept us informed of the status of any repair/replacement/adjustment, and all were resolved in the end. We have had a couple of small issues since the purchase that were also handled quickly. Bottom line…if you are expecting perfection, build the home yourself. As a first time home buyer I feel well taken care of. My experience so far has been great and seamless! Everyone, from the on-site team to the design studio consultant, has been wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable.
