Don replaced a sewer line from the house to the garage. It was more complicated than originally thought and weather was not cooperative. (All of which I understand.) it took 5 weeks to get that done. The mess following is what was unacceptable. Yard was left a total disaster and the bobcat damage horrific. My hedge row and fence are completely ruined and my deck needs fixed. The bobcat also was backed into my garage and destroyed the door. He put me off starting May 15, still claiming by Labor Day that he’d be fixing it. Never showed up, even setting days he’d have someone there. I was able to get his insurance to pay for the garage repairs but I am out thousands to fix the fencing, hedges, and porch. So frustrating! Choice home warranty uses Don Rice for plumbing issues. Both companies I would rate low. Chw is unprofessional and cheap while Don Rice is completely under water. I would call daily he would ask me to call back to get scheduled as they would schedule then not show up and not call. Then finally came out after rescheduling 3 times at a time when they were not scheduled. Once they wrote up my claim they did change my faucet. It took a month of me calling to see if they submitted my other claim before he finally told me the way to solve this was to call the warranty company and ask for another company. If my leak was bad my house would ha e been ruined by the time they got around to it and in the end they just told me they didn't have the time.

Don Rice Construction was assigned to me for plumbing issues through my home warranty company. I’ve owned my home for 3.5 years & have had a home warranty the entire time. This is the first negative experience I’ve had. I put the request in on 1/19/2022. Typically they call within 48 hours. After 48 hours I had received no missed call, nothing. I called a couple times to the number the warranty company provided on 1/24/2022. Again on 1/25/2022 I tried contacting Don Rice. Someone finally answered, I assume Don himself, only for him to advise I call one of his employees to get something scheduled. Why is that my responsibility? My client has a home warranty and the warranty company used Rice Construction. Although the technician was very knowledgeable and professional Don Rice himself was anything but. After 3 weeks without plumbing upstairs Rice Construction had still not reported to the Home Warranty company there findings, let alone scheduled the repair. When I called to express my clients and my dissatisfaction Don hung up on me. Not an apology, no reasonable explanation, not so much as a thank you for my feedback. I understand warranty work probably isn't glamorous but it's an obligation he and his company took on and those clients should be taken care of!

I was asked to contact this guy about my hot water heater from my home warranty company (Cinch). I contacted him on early on Tuesday he said, call me at 1pm tomorrow, I will try to get someone out. I called him at 1pm on Tuesday, he asked me to send pictures which I did immediately. He did not call me back so I called him on Wed, he said, he might be able to get someone out today, but started giving me the run-around about how, if he couldn't make it today, he probably wouldn't be able to make it Friday either. I never raised my voice, I just said, I am going on 3 days now without hot water and he immediately said, call your home warranty company, if you are going to be difficult, I am not coming at all. Completely unprofessional.
