Love my apartment. People are very friendly. Here's my issue. I have two dogs. The entire property has been covered in dog feces. I have asked on multiple occasions for someone to clean the dog park and complained about the absence of dog bags. I ALWAYS clean up after my dogs. Recently management sent out an email telling residents they will be fined and evicted if they do not pick up after their dogs. I am fine with that. My issue is I was just fined $200 dollars for not picking up after my dogs. Which is a Lie!! So what now? Let them steal $200 from me for lying, no evidence, based on just an accusation by some faceless person? I am livid. I get that this has been an issue and am glad it's being addressed but just finning people because you see them outside is absolutely disgusting.
Living at Deer Crest is a mixed bag. The location is fantastic. There's a nice walking path that is really nearby. There is one dog park on the property (which is not enough for the 280+ apartments.) There is a ton of grass and nice plants. Maintenance told us that the owner of the property likes a natural look, so he doesn't allow the maintenance team to trim any dead trees or plants. They just wait for the trees to drop branches on the cars in the parking lot. (happened 2+ times in the 3+ years I was there.) Many bushes need to be trimmed in order to make the sidewalks Accessible. It's a safe neighborhood and the apartments are less expensive than most. They allows dogs and the amenities are nice. The pool is nice. The hot tub gets drained almost once a month because the maintenance staf
Personally, I chose this place because of easy access to nature and trails for me and my dog. I also enjoy easy access to a range of city Services and business amenities. One can walk to almost anything and there is also easy access to buses for people who do not have cars. We have three parks available to us. We have a nice clubhouse and a nice pool. Areas to work on include maintenance and care of mature landscape.
Still paying on breaking a lease from DC in 2022. They charged HIGH prices for everything I ever touched in the apartment to be repaired. I lived there for just over a year. While there, maintenance entered my home unannounced and without my knowledge. The tub's coating constantly peeled off and the drawers were so cheaply made they often came off the tracks. In the summer my water bill spiked up to 35$ as a single women, which Jen informed me was due to the pool and its maintenance. Beware and choose wisely before signing a lease here!
Edit: These people will steal your security deposit with no explanation even against Colorado state law! Paper-thin noise • low ceilings • rent hike • old appliances • surprise entries I’ve lived here long enough to say it isn’t worth the price.
