Davis Gardens of Kernersville

I am incredibly frustrated with our experience at Davis Gardens. My in-laws have lived here for 7 years, hoping for a vibrant community with activities and social opportunities, but it’s been nothing but disappointment. The so-called “community” is lacking, with little to no events or engagement. What was promised to be a social and active environment is nothing like that. Instead of a lively atmosphere, it’s more like a lonely, isolated place with residents who seem as disengaged as the staff. The lack of support and activities is truly disappointing, especially for a place that bills itself as a community-oriented living space. If you’re looking for a place where your loved ones can thrive and stay active, Davis Gardens is not the place, at least in the last 2 years.

Great place to live. Wonderful senior neighborhood, don’t have to go outside to mingle. We gather twice a day in the lobby, around noon for the mailman and in the evening just to socialize with friends and neighbors. Once a month we have Bingo, a birthday party for the residents having a birthday that month, a residence outing and a special party that Davis Gardens stir heads. Once a week we have movie night, Bible study and game night. We are delighted with our new manager and our maintenance person. If you’re a home body, we will let you have your privacy. The rent is high for a small aparrment. There has been four different managers in the two years we have lived here. Most of the residents are in the 70's to 80's age range and act like a 2 year olds when they don't get their way. It's a lot of drama but if you like a nursing home vibe this is the place for you. Paying for trash valet is mandatory when it could be optional. You have a lot of tables in the lobby set up like a dining room although it's suppose to be a lobby. You have a game room that has a child's pool table and a shuffle board in it. My neighbor has Alzheimer's and has tried coming into my apartment four times. I'm so glad we're moving but not happy about paying the month rent even though our lease is up. You pay a lot of money to move in and have to pay more just to leave

I am living here less than 2 months, and I am so impressed with the care taken to keep the tenants safe and happy. The amenities are wonderful, and I can honestly say that everyone is kind and friendly. Our manager truly cares about the tenants and is always available to discuss any ideas or answer questions. Our maintenance man is on the job and tends to service requests within one day. There is nothing I would change about this place, from the lovely apartments that are reasonably priced to all the conveniences that are afforded to the tenants. All I can say is, "Thank you, Davis Gardens." It is now January, and I have been living here 7 months, every one of those months a pleasure. Every aspect of the complex is managed efficiently and with the happiness of the tenants in mind.

I have lived at Davis Gardens for 2+ years. If you are an over 55, this is a great place. Neighbors are all very nice and there's usually some activity going on so if you are single you will meet lots of folks. Amenities are nice and everything is always very clean. The management staff is great to work with. Richard (maintenance) is awesome. He's very prompt in responding to problems and always has a smile while providing outstanding service to residents. Wonderful place to live.
