My property manager was fired in April. This property management company took over. We had no clue where to pay our rent June 1st to because this property management company never sent a certified letter to let us know. We received a text message May 29th stating they were our new property management company and we needed to pay them. There are so many scams around. Why would we believe a text message? Also, keep in mind the other property manager was fired in the middle of April. That's a long time to wait to reach out to let current tenants know what's going on. Also, we do not have a clause in the lease that allows text messages either, so that was illegal.
