Chicago Title

They are the worst Title Insurance Company we have used in fifty years of buying homes! No communication, sent us a bill for something we weren’t responsible for, ignored our request for early paperwork since we live in Florida and had a closing in St. Joseph, Michigan. Said they had sent things that they hadn’t. Literally felt no security with their process, I had to monitor and double check every step.

Professional staff, they all work hard to keep both their customers and the Real Estate Agents happy. I am reading some old comments but the title company is at the mercy of the buyer’s lender 95% of the time. It’s impossible to have a perfect closing when the bank doesn’t deliver the cash needed to close. In my 25 years of working with them I have never experienced Chicago Title not going all out to remedy as issues as soon as possible.

Extreme unprofessionalism across the entire office. Unorganized, no able to clearly communicate, late on giving information. Stay away from this title office they will totally destroy your transactions.

Probably the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. I can't give zero stars, so it's a 1 but not really. We closed on 7/1. I did not receive closing documents until 7/7 (I wanted them emailed instead of paper copies, partially my fault). Prior to receiving them, I called and left multiple messages asking for the documents and explaining how I think we were owed money back. I was correct in that we were due money and it was confirmed on 7/8 ("issue was being resolved that day"). I heard NOTHING until reaching back out to them on 7/15. A response on 7/19 stated that they will have our check ready to be picked up that week. In the next few weeks were lied to about the check being ready, about not having someone who could sign the check, about still waiting to hear back from the sellers

They did not wire our money at closing despite stating they had completed the transfer. 3 days later our banker had to call Chicago Title to find that they had yet to wire the funds. They claimed they were too busy to talk to our banker. Perhaps its a money making scheme but is unprofessional and irresponsible to take advantage of unsuspecting customers in this manner. Avoid this company. Plenty of other title companies would like your business.
