Camp Shelby Billeting

I was at Camp Shelby for an OCS Commissioning ceremony for the dates of 9-10 August 2025. I was supposed to stay until Monday however, my room issues were so terrible that there was no way I was going to subject myself to that type of quarters. I arrived at Shelby after checking time so I had to pick up my keys from the MP station on post and Candace was very helpful in that process. However, when I made it to my room I noticed it was not even the requested quarters I booked for the duration of my stay. It was the old flats quarters. Upon entry the room smelled like a musty mildew motel. I attempted to go ahead to get ready anyways because I had an OCS Alumni dinner to attend and didn’t want to be late for it and just decided I would stop back by the MP station on my way to the dinne

Pros: Cheap prices. Cons: Extremely early checkout time when compared to literally any other hotel in existence. My graduation was at 0900. Yet checkout was 0830. Despite this, the hotel blatantly refused to offer an extension for checkout and would not budge on this issue. As a result, not only did I have to find an alternate facility to change out of my dress uniform after graduation, but I was forced to leave my personal belongings unsecured in the bed of my truck for almost two hours. The hotel parking lot was NEVER even close to full the entire time I stayed there, so refusing to let me have an extension was just unreasonable.

The value is great. The showers are a little old.

This review is for Officer Bounds, at the South Gate Entrance. Ms. Bounds, displayed an AGGRESSIVE attitude for NO reason towards me, my daughter, and her friend girl. She made me feel like, I was going to be Shot. By the way she was acting for no apparent reason. Yes, that is the way I felt, due to the way things escalated on her part. She asked, “do I need to call the (______), on duty?” I said go ahead but for what. I did not even say anything to you, and you asked me what’s it with the attitude?
