Had to pay double security deposit due to no previous landlord records, and I haven't moved out yet, but otherwise they have been great landlords. They've been nothing but nice and personable. I've had to call maintenance 3 or 4 times, and they have always come the same day. They seem to run a pretty tight ship. We had to amend our rental agreement to allow for a cat, and they more than willing to work with us. Again, I can neither confirm or deny the claims about keeping deposits, but my first year of renting has been nothing but pleasant. Note: they do give you a completely exhaustive list of what they expect upon move out, and how much each item will cost if not up to decent standards. So it seems like if they keep any deposit, it shouldn't be a surprise.

Nice apartments for a good price which earns them at least one star BUT horrible management and customer service. We truly liked our place and it had a lot of good memories, but over time it got worse with rude and loud tenants moving in — they clearly only care about doing the bare minimum to keep tenants around so we were just excited to get out. Also, we do our best to clean out every place we stay at when moving out and have ALWAYS received our full security deposit back, but of course, Benkowski charges for every little thing they can get (including things that should be considered “normal wear and tear” for living in a home), that they deducted nearly $200 from our deposit. NOT worth renting from them.

Please.... do not apply an application or sign a lease with these people. They’re very Inconsiderate. I’ve called numerous of times about a gorgeous apartment I’ve applied for. The first time I️ received a voicemail from the lazy front desk lady.. she told me that I️ didn’t put the apartment I️ wanted and that someone else might come in the sign the lease after I️ called twice about the apartment and was told (both parties) that it was still available. They also false advertised the price on Hotpads and their site from $750 to $785 because of new appliances and countertops which stated in the 750 ad as well that new everything was included). My application was denied due to miscommunication and apparently a person that’s not me that has a FELONY for child neglect under “my name”! The bac

They require too much of a security deposit you can literally buy a car with the money they are requesting 4000 bucks for a security deposit for first time renters not including the 1000 for rent and 1500 is needed to take it offline to secure the place this is an apartment yeah go to hell respectfully

Not very neighborly owners tenants play obnoxiously loud music empty the garbage out of their vehicles in front of the building and the neighbors yards and let there animals poop on other people's lawns contacted their office in South Milwaukee and they basically told me there's nothing they can do so I will contact the Alderman's office and the police department to try to get some help because benkowski will not help Neighbors .this is a picture of a common occurrence.
