Effectively got evicted due to the property manager refusing to contact me in any way but email, and having saved my email wrong. Also WOW the rent hikes were atrocious, for a house where I had to sign asbestos and lead disclosures to cost much money was already too much to ask, but it's now going for 800? On the other hand though, they were the most respectful of my privacy of all Boone landlords, I generally had to invite them in for them to try to bother me. But... A problem that could've been solved over the phone number they did have correct getting me unable to renew my lease? Beyond incompetent.

Absolutely not respect. Be warned that in your lease they have the right to entry at anytime with absolutely no warning, as well as anyone they contract to work on units. Within the first 3 months of living here we had an unauthorized entry that the office was completely unaware of. The office continually confuses and miscommunicates on every level and living here has been one of the worst experiences. Highly do not recommend this company. Not to mention, when you ask for any clarification or try to communicate issues, they will belittle you.

As a property owner, I have been working with Appalachian Management for over 10 years and have had an excellent experience the entire way through. Harold Tilley, the owner, has always been very communicative and provided valuable advice whenever an issue would arise. He made the investment truly 'hands off' by handling all day-to-day management tasks without requiring my involvement. Harold and his team also took care of marketing the property each year, resulting in a 100% occupancy rate the entire time. Their professionalism and efficiency have been outstanding. If we ever have any management needs in the future, Appalachian Management and Harold's team will be the first place we look.

I have rented from app management for 3 years now, 2 in my current place and 1 in my former. The reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 or even 0 is because there is one person in the office that is quite nice and actually makes sure our work orders get done. However, since my roommate and I moved into this place it's been an absolute nightmare. The location is good, and because of that they are raising the rent by over $200 next year. When we moved in, our dishwasher kept leaking, the apartment was dirty, light fixtures were painted over to the point of not being able to use them, and there was mold all inside our closets and on our windows. And that's just the highlights of the list. Even after reporting the mold, nobody came to fix it and I ended up having to take care of it mysel

Extreamly disrespectful when I asked a simple question of why they wanted a copy of my id and got a snappy attitude back when i was respectful. Would not recommend they do not create a great first impression which should be exteamly crucial for business and rental realtionships longterm whcih i have had years of experience in. Plus the price they are offering for the quality of units is insane it is truly sad that they bribe students out of this money for the run down condition of there apartments. It is truley sad how bad theyvare ripping you a new one and i dont leave bad reviews! You are better off living at the finmore or standard for the same price but higher quality living!
