The dreamiest Gold Coast apartment any girl could ask for. If you want to live somewhere central to all neighborhoods, the lake, and Le Labo, this is your spot. I’ve had the pleasure to live here for the last two years (right when I graduated college), and I could only wish apartment living anywhere was as wonderful as it’s been here. Sebastian, Nick, Pam, Anthony, Kahari, EVERYONE has made it so easy for me to just live alone and enjoy life. Not even joking. I’ve never had a SINGLE issue with pests, utilities/maintenance, neighbors, packages, front desk, laundry, rent. The whole team, everyone in the leasing office and maintenance crew, are actually residents here themselves. That alone should indicate the care/service level to you of the building. I have nothing but amazing things to say about 40 E Oak. This was the best apartment I’ve had in the city and the management/ leasing office/ door people/ maintenance were absolutely phenomenal. They were accommodating and helpful with move in/ move out, I’ve never lost a package and the maintenance requests are taken care of most times the same day. As far as the actual apartment, it was beautiful. The AC/heating worked perfect through every season and the apartment was very clean. I personally have never seen any bugs of any sort once while living here and same goes for friends in the building. The location in my opinion is the best in the city as well. I am so sad to leave but would live here again in a heartbeat if I wasn’t moving to another city.

I’ve lived here for almost two years and absolutely love it! The building has so much charm, and the management team is fantastic— proactive in their communication, quick to respond to any issues, and always looking for ways to improve the building. Plus, it’s in a prime location on beautiful Oak Street. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a charming vintage apartment!

I lived at 40 E Oak for 3 years and loved every second! Management is great, friendly and communicates efficiently. My 1 bedroom was spacious and soundproof!! I never heard my neighbors or people above me. Location is wonderful, I always felt very safe walking around the area. Elevators were being modernized which increased wait times for them, but it’s an older building and no one can be blamed for this. Maintenance is extremely responsive and helps with any issues very quickly. Doormen are extremely helpful as well! I see reviews about bugs, and I never once saw a cockroach or even a spider in my unit. I highly recommend 40 E Oak to anyone looking for a place!

This building Management at 40 East Oak is seriously the best! The General Manager and engineers are very fast responding team. Always on time and easy to communicate. Hard working people. This review is rare in its nature because I do provide services for this location as a Vendor/Contractor and believe me, servicing Chicago Highrises since 1985 I can totally trust this place and people who make our Chicago shine!
