DO NOT rent from Woodlake Apartments. Just save yourself the time, energy, and money because I seriously wished I did. My lease was only 9 months and by month 3 I was tempted to break it. Only move here if you’re fine with the police being sent out 24/7, cars being broken into, packages being stolen from your front door, baggies of drugs just laying out in the parking lot, people blasting music past 11pm, and roaches crawling everywhere. That is a short summary of what I got to experience… Now, I have had to pay $903 for damages to the apartment that I literally did not cause. My apartment had sooo many holes that were poorly patched and painted over (not even the same color as the walls) and the maintenance man never came back to finish it… So instead of contacting the maintenance man the
Stay away from Woodlake, the place is a dump. Property management is nonexistent and they make zero effort to maintain the property. Neighbors are nasty and leave trash all over the property, as well as smoke (cigarettes and marijuana) despite this being a "non-smoking" property. Neighbors also partake in criminal activity, have strangers banging on their door all hours of the day, and blast loud music all night long. Management really needs to clean house and get rid of the tenants who blatantly violate their leases every single day.
I lived here for a year and it was the worst year of my life , bullets holes poorly filled in on the walls , cat poop all over base boards in spare room along with cat litter , whole room spelled like cat pee and i could never get the smell out. Black and mild tips ALL over the place along with trash , i had homeless people beating on my door , someone set a shirt on fire by the wooden stairs and no one cared when it was reported, had a renter in another building try to break into my apartment and busted the frame around my door and it went unfixed the remainder of my stay , wouldn’t let me out of my lease or sub lease to someone so i could leave , always cops around , the oven is a joke , the smallest oven ive ever seen in a apartment. I couldnt wait for my lease to be up . I moved out b
Just moved out of Woodlake a week ago. Moved out because a 2BR apartment for a single occupant was just way too much space. I first contacted Woodlake on May 2022, when I was still living overseas, and Derek did a great job making sure I have somewhere to live at when I arrive in Columbia. I enjoyed living here. The building I lived at was at the end of the complex. It was nice and quiet for the most part. Only had to create service orders thrice in the one year that I was here and all of them were answered promptly. Parking was never an issue. They salted the pavements during winter. Never had a pet but this is a pet-friendly complex. Made some dog friends while I was here. The lake is very nice to look at any time of the year. The geese and ducks were an added bonus! My unit had a vinyl
0/10 wouldn’t recommend. They have lost maintenance person after maintenance person. When they schedule said maintenance they say it’s one time then they either show up 6 hours later and expect to still do it then, or they don’t show at all. Management has ZERO idea what they are doing. They move families into unsafe environments, KNOWINGLY, and then tells them it’s not their job to keep their tenants safe after another tenant assaults them. They leave the vacant units unlocked 24/7 so that homeless can come and go as they please. Oh, and when people move into units that they didn’t actually get “livable” or remotely close to clean, they’re annoyed. They keep people’s security deposits when their building has issues prior to them moving in; and they use cheap paint/products. Do not move
