Fantastic nostalgia of the boomer years. Built in 1929. I am a native and came downtown on Saturday to the Fox theater for the live Wallace & Ladmo shows. Cartoons, movie and refreshments. Great fun for us kids and a penny arcade. The Westward Ho was a landmark building downtown. It was one of the first grand hotels that catered to the political elite and several Presidents stayed hear when visiting. It has since been remolded and converted for subsidized and affordable apartments for the elderly and disabled citizens of our community. I've never had my electricity go out, and never known anyone else who lost electricity! Where is THAT coming from? The reviewer also said there are "areas" that smell bad "like unwashed bodies". That's just gross, and reviewer didn't say where those areas are beyond mentioning the elevators. In 3 years yes, ONE TIME I got on the elevator with smelly people. But that's also happened to me in other buildings, like hospitals and Dr offices. Yes, sometimes new MGMT will rent to several groups of formerly homeless people (I think there's a bonus for that) but they usually don't stay long if they can't adjust to having an apt and following rules. And yes,
