We had a wonderful experience working with Larry Oaks and Wausau Homes! He guided us throughout all components of the process and had amazing ideas to help us get every ounce of land space while taking down the minimal amount of trees and as much light as possible in creative ways with windows! As I walk through now with friends and family, they comment on what a great idea to have windows like that or having cabinets in a certain place, etc.. and I continually keep saying, "That was our builder Larry's idea!" Larry is an excellent communicator, and always kept us well informed. We stayed right on budget with no surprises throughout the entire process and if we considered any additional changes, Larry was always transparent with any added costs to help us make our decisions. Larry was professional and attentive to my needs and became best friends with my family dog, Shandy. Our experience with Wausau Homes and Larry Oaks in particular has been great. We did our research between the differant types of homes (stick built, modular, etc.) and the Wausau process stood out. The efficiency, quality, materials, etc. were exceptional. Being able to have the house set and completly enclosed and protected from the elements in 3 days was a big plus for us. The sub-contractors that Larry uses are great. They know their trades, do high quality work, and have been very responsive to our questions and requests even after completion, plus they are local and very friendly. We love our Wausau home built by Larry Oaks and Acorn Builders of Nisswa. Larry was a constant positive force during a time filled with Covid 19 impacts, building material outages, labor shortages, and exploding costs. Larry coordinated an array of highly skilled local subcontractors, most of whom have worked with him for years. We have had many relatives and friends tour our new home and most have a jaw dropping experience. Not because this home is so grandiose but because it is so functional and beautifully finished. Larry helped us achieve our dream of moving into a lake home in Lake Country Minnesota. We are grateful and blessed to be living here today.
