Washington Square Village Apartments

Moved in and the carpet was ancient and falling apart, as were the vertical blinds. Plus both were dirty and gross. I track pieces of carpet yarn everywhere I go and the blinds keep falling down and chipping. I spilled some water and when I blotted it up my towel turned dark brown. No doubt I'll be charged for the blinds at this point because they get worse and worse. It also had fleas!! It was such a bad infestation and I spent so much time and money tackling it. Then I got a cat and read in the lease that they can charge you for carpet replacement if you have a pet. How convenient. It should have been replaced a decade ago and now I'll be blamed for the fleas even though they were here before I got the cat and had to spend extra time and money on keeping her flea free. Major upgrades to parking area , they installed tankless water heaters, they put new siding on, the management even leveld the walway and parking lot aking it easier for those with scooters, and they added new insulation. They also dug a frenh drain so the neighbors water from heavy rains won't cause possible flooding to the appartments. Also, management/owners truely care about those that live here. they are not your average land lord/owners. they are not afraid to do work themselves.

I know there's New owners of this complex and they are making this place really nice to live now, they are actually investing money into this complex, so this is a good thing! The units go fast when they do become available, there was a small waiting list. So far the neighbors are nice here, lots of kids for my kids to play with, lots of VERY well lit lights around the complex (makes my family feel safe), parking is pretty easy and ample, the manager Anna is super nice, the maintenance guys are fast on getting stuff done as fast as they can, they are roomy apartments, the price is decent too. It's hard to find apartments here in Longview, WA.. because they are all mostly houses.

Unless you are desperate don't move in. New management is nice, considering that the old management is going to go jail for stealing money from the tenants. Still has major flea and cockroach issues. The newly renovated units are going for Portland or Seattle rates, not Longview rates. Once again unless you are desperate would not suggest living here. Update. If i could give a negative review i would. On the 3rd manager now. No one does anything around here. No one has addressed the cockroach issue. Apartment building around the corner, same complex, has bed bugs. They just pressure washed the entire parking lot without telling anyone that they were going to do so, everyone's cars are now filthy, some cars have chipped paint. Management is awesome, the team of workers here are on top of maintenance repairs, when following proper proceedure by the tenants and reporting repairs to get maintained. I just wanted the staff to know that i appriciate them. Have a good day.
