I would like to personally recognize Katie Wann, my Loan Processor, and Melissa Spangler, my Underwriter, along with all of their assistants and associates who worked diligently behind the scenes to bring my loan to the closing table. This was not a simple transaction. I was simultaneously selling my home in North Carolina while purchasing a new home in Texas using my VA loan benefit — all within strict timelines that required precision, communication, and patience. This review is specifically about loan officer Stephen Coloni. I reached out to Veterans United for a refinance and initially received a verbal quote that sounded reasonable. Once the Loan Estimate arrived from Stephen Coloni, the numbers were drastically different, thousands more in fees than what was discussed. When I emailed asking for clarification and transparent rate options, communication stopped. Shortly after, my file was closed without my request and I received a notice saying I withdrew, which was not accurate. I expected a higher level of transparency and professionalism based on Veterans United’s reputation, but unfortunately that wasn’t my experience with this loan officer.

Veterans United "Mission": "To enhance the lives of veterans and military families by providing excellent VA home loan services". All lies, if you are a Veteran living in Puerto Rico, ( even though all your years in the military were on active duty ) they can't help you with a home loan.

As a Veteran of the military, I deeply understand the critical importance of collaboration in achieving mission success, and Anne and her dedicated team displayed this principle with remarkable effectiveness for my family and me. Kyle Gardner sat on my refinance for 2 months and apologized. Admitted to just forgetting about it. The old refinance paperwork wasn't even right. It didn't have the updated property tax reduction. He promised a rate reduction for his mistake. He sends me the new refinance paperwork, and it is literally just a copy of the old paperwork with nothing changed. Has my son's name under an alias. Not even the property tax information is updated while he's telling me that it is new paperwork. He is literally trying to commit fraud to get out of making up for his mistake. Serving veterans more like trying to serve themselves.
