Valo Apartments

I recently toured Valo Apartments and had a great experience working with Bernard. He was professional, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the community. He clearly explained pricing, availability, and amenities, and answered all of my questions confidently. The tour felt organized and informative without being pushy. Overall, a very positive experience, I highly recommend asking for Bernard if you’re considering Valo Apartments.

From the moment I approached her, Michaela demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the building and its amenities. She was not only professional but also incredibly warm and approachable. What stood out most was her attentiveness to both residents and guests. Michaela handled inquiries with ease and precision, ensuring everyone’s needs were met promptly and accurately. When my package was mistakenly labeled and picked up by a different apartment unit Assistant Property Manager Mario Walker re-defined the meaning “going above and beyond.” Mario along side Property Manager Nicole went through many days and hours of video footage themselves to search for who may have taken my package, routinely called me multiple times a day to check in not only on my well-being, but make sure I had a status update on their progress and within 36 hours found the culprit and were able to return my package to me. This is one of man reasons I choose to live at Valo as their staff perpetually treat me like I am a part of their own family and make sure my well-being and needs are met on a daily basis. Peaceful Living… I love living in my place. The community in the building is amazing. Josue is knowledgeable and very professional as well as the concierge leasing agent. Yesenia who is the assistant property manager is organized as well friendly. Valo has an atmosphere of welcoming people who exceed expectations.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the front office at this apartment complex, where I’ve been a tenant since 2020. The current front office manager has been curt and unhelpful in my interactions. Before the property was acquired by Bernstein, Valo was a great place to live and felt like a true community. Since the change in management, the experience has declined noticeably. The Peloton bikes in the gym are often broken, and unexplained fees frequently appear on tenant accounts. When questioned, staff are unable to provide clear answers or accountability. Overall, the new management has not maintained the standard that long-term residents came to expect. I moved out in October, and must caution anyone looking to move into SW D.C. beware of this
