We had been with USAA for well over a decade. We utilized them for banking, credit cards, auto loans, insurance, investments, just about any service they offered. Then...after one 800$ home owners claim, they dropped us from our home owners insurance. Mind you, we received the renewal letter already (like we do every year), and then one week before our renewal date I get a letter in the mail saying they are dropping us from our insurance. I called and spoke with the person who sent the letter explaining the long history of utlizing USAA for all our financial needs, how we already received the renewal letter, and we've paid thousands into our home owners over the years with only one small claim. She basically said tough shit, you've got a week to find new insurance. I said alright then I

Desiree expertly walked me through all the necessary steps on my USAA app and Val clearly articulated the next steps that my wife must complete. Great experience and extremely professional as well as friendly staff!!!

Awful insurance company. Every representative I have interacted with over the phone regarding my policy was both rude and incompetent. When I called to change my coverage, I was transferred 5 times over the course of 1 hour and each person gave information that contradicted the person before them. I even asked for a warm handoff at one point, so I didn't have to keep explaining myself, and the new person stated the exact opposite of what they were told I needed. The people I spoke with were rude, spoke over me and interrupted me multiple times. They are overly expensive as well.

They are denying a lot of soldiers the emergency loans during this government shutdown. These are soldiers that have banked with them for a well over a decade if not a couple of decades. We will definitely be banking with someone else!!

Just wanted to share my thoughts as a longtime member. TLDR: They use terrible vendors for their in-network car repairs, please, please, please do not let them refer you in-network for repairs, especially to Caliber Collision. Full story: I ran over a bucket of tools that fell out of a truck on the interstate and USAA sent me to Caliber Collision. They charged USAA for repairs, I argued back and forth with them and my USAA rep about whether or not the repairs were successfully completed, USAA dragged out the process for about a year and then turned it around on me and said I waited a year to complain....classy.
