Turtle Lake

I moved out of Turtle Lake Apartments due to a severe roach infestation. It became so bad that I had to throw away nearly everything I owned before moving. I was told to file a claim with my renters insurance—just FYI, renters insurance does not cover roach infestations. Over the four years I lived there, I experienced several floods. At one point, the property attempted to update the electrical outlets in each unit because they were considered fire hazards. However, the vendor they hired refused to enter any apartments with roaches. As a result, residents were forced to continue living in a unit that was not up to safety code due to the ongoing infestation. Overall, the property was not maintained as it should be. I lived here for almost 2 years. When I first got there, things were not so bad. I noticed there was an area above the sliding glass door that was leaking and notified maintenance. After almost 2 years, they never fixed it. I submitted dozens of work requests, called, emailed etc. and still nothing was done. Linda with the management office (super rude by the way with a constant attitude) had the gall to tell US to do something to control the leak. It was no small leak either. It would dump a few GALLONS of water into the apartment if it rained hard. My wife and I had to engineer a system to catch the water (pictures of the leak and the system we set up below). Now they have an agency trying to collect "damages" from us for the leak they refused to fix! If I could give them zero stars I wo

the property manager cares about her tenants and it shows greatly. She takes every concern to heart and comes up with a fix or solution quickly. She is very polite and friendly and makes me feel at home every time I see her. When a problem arises Greg with maintenance handles it prompt and efficiently. I couldn’t ask for better staff. These are the people every complex dreams of staffing and turtle lake has been blessed with the best. Thank you turtle lakes!!!

Worst apartment ever I had roaches and they did nothing about it to fix the problem. I had moved out after being here for 2 months. I draw the line when one roach was crawling on me when I was asleep. I can’t do bugs especially if they are in my food, pots and pans, also on my furniture. Had to throw away most of my furniture because of it.

We’ve been here since 2016 and will continue to live here as long as possible. It’s safe and friendly. There’s an amazing pool, “lakes” with cute ducks, a dog park, a playground, a small laundromat, a few grills and picnic tables, and plenty of space to roam (if you have children, pets, or just like a leisurely stroll). Some apartments even come with your own little storage unit. Management is considerate and allows you the respect and privacy (within reason) - as long as you treat them and their property with the same respect. Like, make sure to change your air filters monthly, communicate with them always, and pay your rent on time! Turtle Lake is close to the restaurants, beaches, GCSC&FSU, the Navy base, and town, so it’s perfectly located as well. Altogether, it’s the best place for u
