I’ve lived in the same unit for over four years. and my experience has declined sharply. Despite my loyalty, I’m paying more than new tenants in similar units without improved service. Safety has also become a serious concern. I’ve fallen multiple times at the dog park due to uneven, poorly maintained ground, resulting in hip fractures that have impacted my well-being. The park is often left unsanitary with little enforcement around pet waste. The most painful part is the feeling of being treated differently because of my authenticity. As someone who values transparency and direct communication, I’ve experienced dismissiveness and a lack of respect from management that feels discriminatory. Despite its ideal location and natural surroundings, even one star feels generous. I have stayed in many places, but I have never encountered a maintenance office as unresponsive and ineffective as this one. Although I vacated the house in May, we still have not received our deposit back. Since we are now in our home country, we cannot follow up in person, yet management never offered any facilitative solutions. The oven in our unit was extremely old and rusted, and household items frequently broke down. The air conditioning system was completely nonfunctional, and despite multiple service requests, no real solution was ever provided. I’ll put it this way: the only reason we still live here is because it’s so cheap and moving is inconvenient, but believe me this would be my last choice to recommend to anyone. Maintenance is absolutely useless and incredibly rude. I have had to borderline-harass the office to get them to take my maintenance requests seriously. Currently, our dryer is broken for the 4th time and has been broken for almost a week. Despite being told it was “a priority”, we still have not heard anything from maintenance. They can’t even bother to communicate an estimated time of it being fixed, or an explanation as to why it is taking so long. When this happened before, it was almost 2 weeks before it was fixed. I’ve had a good experience living here. The apartments themselves are comfortable and are in a good location: pretty easy access to the greenway for walks or biking, and a short driving distance from downtown and I-40. The pricing feels fair and competitive. Biggest downside has probably been slow/low-communication maintenance which can require regular follow-ups to ensure work gets done, though emergencies have been handled swiftly. Management has been friendly—Jean in particular has been very pleasant to work with. Overall, I’m happy to call this place home.
