The Sheffield SoNo

Been here since the end of 2020 when it was under different management. I’ve watched it decline in the years, but most recently it has become even more terrible. With amenities that haven’t been kept clean / working, the price of rent still increasing. And like other reviews “spiteful” seems to be an appropriate description of how the staff runs. They go out of their way to make sure you have a difficult time here. They make things personal.

We have been waiting since November for our deposit to be returned when state law requires a return within 21 days. There were no issues at our last walk thru. We were here a long time and watched it decline primarily in terms of ownership. These owners, Sentinel are the absolute worst. It looks like we will have to file s small claims against them for not even a very large amouint. It's crazy and just demonstrates their total disregard for their tenants. Run, don't walk away from this place. There are over 900 apts in Norwalk available right now. Why end up here while it is owned by these people? The one star is for the years under previous owners. It was once a nice place to live.

Management is absolutely horrible—Mariam, the property manager, is extremely rude and aggressive. The apartments and building are outdated, and the rent is not worth it. The gym is literally the size of a living room and the pool looks completely run-down. The management team is incompetent and has harassed me three times, even calling my phone unnecessarily. Security is a joke—people leave the main door open, and there’s only one camera at the entrance. No cameras in the garage where I park my $100K car. I had to install my own 24/7 dash cam just to feel safe. The only good thing here is the maintenance team—especially the short guy—he’s amazing and gets things done quickly. Other than that, this building is a nightmare. I will be suing and leaving this place very soon.

Mariam, the manager and her staff have been incredibly patient and helpful with my move in process. While there were many things wrong with my apartament upon moving in, she has been working on fixing them up and making sure I feel at home. Highly recommend living here. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the area, it’s very well kept and the people are really nice.
