The Ridge at Northlake - Taylor Morrison

We are in the middle of buying a house from Taylor Morrison and have had the worst experience from start to finish. If we could walk away, we would. I’ve received better customer service at Walmart. My advice is to run, not walk, away from this awful company.

If you are looking for a good quality new construction house (especially for the 70 ft lots), look elsewhere. The sales manager was great! I’ve been through the process before with new builds but the experience with this construction manager was horrible. I had to point out numerous construction issues and code violations like missing insulation during the construction phase, which I had to go through the process of having fixed while living in the house. Updating my review to lower my rating. The owner responded on google reviews to my review, but never followed up with my email. Poor construction quality and hidden/covered up major issues. I had a very disappointing experience at the Taylor Morrison sales office in The Ridge at Northlake community. I visited to learn more about available lots, view model homes, and better understand the floor plans and pricing—particularly options for a media room, which is important to me. However, when I met with the sales manager, Kristina Milillo, the conversation was abruptly shut down. As soon as I began explaining my needs, she asked if I had a mortgage pre-approval. I said yes, but it was from a different lender—not Taylor Morrison’s in-house lender. At that point, she refused to share any information about the homes, saying I needed to first speak with their lender and only then would she discuss pricing or options. The good: Great floor plans, nice overall design, nice sales people, fantastic field service manager. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The bad: These homes look nice on the outside but the interior finishes are way below builder grade. The tile work in the bathrooms and showers belongs in a trailer house. Everything is out of square, tops of walls are an inch and a half out of plumb. The $10 a sqft flooring really cost $2 for material and $2 for labor. For what they are charging you could have any kind of tile or wood. They don't have the ability or labor to fix things that are messed up and hand over homes with junky finishes.

Extremely disappointed with the build quality. The construction manager was unresponsive and unhelpful, and the warranty team has been even worse. They routinely close tickets without resolving the issue, claiming someone visited and found everything to be fine—even though our surveillance cameras show that no one ever came. Completely unacceptable experience.
