Living at The Pierce Apartments has been a great experience. Management is responsive and takes concerns seriously—maintenance requests are handled quickly and with care. The staff are professional, courteous, and attentive, which makes the community feel well cared for. The property is clean, well-maintained, and consistently kept to a high standard. I’ve lived at Pierce Ave Apartments for eight years, and this will be my last year here due to ongoing issues and extremely poor property management. The building has steadily declined and basic maintenance is consistently neglected. The elevators are constantly broken, the hot water regularly goes out, and the security gates/garage door are frequently broken, which creates safety concerns for residents. On top of that, the common areas are not being properly maintained. There are people smoking in the building, dog waste everywhere, and management does not enforce rules or take resident complaints seriously. I lived in the Pierce for a few years so hopefully this review is helpful to those considering moving there. Overall I enjoyed my time living there and would recommend it to others. Location: The best part of living here - walking distance to lots of fun events in SOFA area/the rest of DTSJ, but it’s not right in the middle of everything, so you don’t have to deal with a lot of loud noises at night. The noiseproofing of the walls/windows is pretty good overall. Maintenance/Cleanliness: The cleaning staff is great and the common areas were generally very clean. Maintenance requests were usually responded to within the day, sometimes the next day. Being able to take a normal shower every night at this property feels like a luxury. Either the water softener isn’t working, there’s frequently no hot water, or the water pressure is low and the water is cloudy. This has seriously affected my daily life. Over the past ten years living in the Bay Area I’ve stayed in five different apartment complexes, and none of them had problems like this. Imagine having work the next morning and being forced to wait until the middle of the night just to take a shower before going to bed or not being able to shower at all

I had a very disappointing experience with the management team at this property. I scheduled a tour for one of their apartments two days ago and provided all the required information. They confirmed the appointment via email. I rearranged my entire schedule and prepared to attend the tour, which was set for 12:00 PM. I left my home at 9:00 AM to take care of some errands and made sure to arrive at the property by 11:30 AM. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the office was closed. I tried calling their listed phone number, but no one answered. I checked my phone for any messages or missed calls and found nothing.
